Hawaiian sunscreen that coexists with marine life
Hawaiian regulation prohibited the sale of sunscreens that contain ingredients that are harmful to the ocean and nature. However, some sunscreens sold in Japan still continue to use oxybenzone and octinoxate as ingredients, which can damage corals and marine life.
Japanese tourists who have no knowledge of the regulation continue to pollute the waters in Waikiki. The water in Waikiki has become as clear as it should be, as evidenced by the lack of tourists during the coronavirus pandemic. By deepening our knowledge of the environment and gradually expanding our awareness, we can leave a more beautiful nature to the next generation.
SHAKA SUNSCREEN, a surfing sunscreen made in Hawaii Manoa, uses all natural ingredients, without containing any chemicals that are harmful to the ocean and damage corals. Natural cacao powder keeps a chocolate scent when surfing. 3 colors are available to match the your skin tone.
Our products are manufactured to suit Hawaii's climate but they become hard in Japan's winter temperatures. Once warmed in the palm of your hand, the ingredients loosen and spread better.
Please apply directly to sunburned areas of the skin, such as face and body, 15 minutes before use. Reapplying the sunscreen every 2 hours after soaking in seawater will ensure proper sunscreen effectiveness. If the ingredients are hard, rub them together with your palms to soften them and make them easier to apply. Do not use when your skin is rough.
Non-nano zinc oxide (25%), organic coconut oil, cosmetic grade beeswax, organic cocoa butter, organic cacao powder, organic tapioca flour
We continue to donate a portion of our product sales to Kuilei Cliffs, a non-profit organization that works to restore Hawaii's Diamond Head and protect the environment.
